We have started writing instructions on how to train your lab. The first installment is in regards to “crate training.” The purpose of crate training is to get your dog feeling comfortable with his crate/kennel and for him to be eager to enter the crate on command. This can be useful in several situations and is an easy skill to teach when they are still young.

We have also included some information on how to start training your dog as a puppy. This is one of the most important times in a dog’s life, and good habits can be continued and built upon throughout the dog’s life. Whether you are training your dog for field trials or simply to be a household pet, the basics remain the same.
